There’s a cafe with the unusual name Tsutsu & tsuttsu over in Arai.
A place like this?
Apparently they used to run a coffee-related business, then came to this town and opened a cafe.
A place like this
Cup
Somehow it gives off a bit of a Nordic feeling.
Inside
I hear their coffee is quite distinctive. For talented people, living out in the countryside like this seems like a fine way to go.
Juice
The caffeine-free options are tasty too.
The canelés this place is known for.
Unlike your standard canelé, these are made with all sorts of ingredients, and they look lovely and they all taste good too. The one with coconut was especially nice. That said, since they’re made ahead of time, that hard-shell, soft-centre character you think of with canelés wasn’t all that pronounced. Well, with a shop this size there’s not much to be done about it. Even allowing for that, this place is worth travelling a long way for.
Drink
Amazake, I believe
Drink
Coffee.
Plate
The atmosphere is good and the food is good, so it’s popular locally. People like this really are impressive.
