I meant to keep it light, but the food was so good I ended up going back for seconds..

The Celestine hotel

It looks like it was renovated not long ago. The hotel was spotless and the service was good too.

On the way to Kiyomizu-dera..

That thing up above is the Yasaka Pagoda. It stands about halfway between Yasaka Shrine and Kiyomizu-dera.

So.. I set out for Kiyomizu-dera, but it was still a long way off and I’d walked around too much the day before, so I turned back partway. There’s always another chance, so I’ll save it for next time..

Park Hyatt

A luxury hotel in a spot like this! It blended right into the Kyoto scenery and looked fantastic.

I’ll just leave it at “ah, so this is here”.. There are far more than one or two places worth seeing in Kyoto..

Madame Delluc, a chocolate shop that came over from Belgium

They say it’s incredibly famous, but lunchtime was coming up so I skipped it.

A place I spotted along the way

It’s called Hisago, and the queue is unbelievably long. I wonder what kind of place it is.. Wander around Kyoto and you run into plenty of spots that make you wonder where everyone got the information to be lining up like that.
