I love shellfish broth, so I make a point of seeking out ramen shops that serve it. The name Toratake sounds like it might belong to the Menya Musashi lineage, but for whatever reason it seemed to have a good reputation for shellfish broth, so I gave it a try.
The shop
Kai-dashi ramen, shellfish broth ramen.
Menu explanations and such
These days the side menu is generous. It feels like shops are settling into a system where adding a couple of options gets you a tasty meal that actually fills you up.
The ramen
The broth is clean and tastes great.
The noodles
That said, the broth really is on the small side, and the portion leaves you wanting just a bit more. There is something about it that makes you order one more side dish, maybe? Anyway, it is delicious, so I am happy.
