Samsigi Gamjatang.. the name is what it is, but I heard the food was good, so I went to have a look. It counts as Yangjae, but it is closer to Maebong Station.

The place

It is an enormous place and it was packed, so the reputation must be deserved..

You can choose your spice level here. I am weak with spicy food, so I ordered the non-spicy version.

The gamjatang

Honestly, I had no idea chunks of meat this big would be in there, and it is fresh, with no off taste at all. If the gamjatang I have had until now felt like it was made from the meat left over after all the good cuts had been sold, then at Samsigi Gamjatang the meat is the star of the gamjatang. This is a top-tier gamjatang place. The one catch is that the amount of meat is colossal, and this cut is on the rich, fatty side, so ordering it non-spicy left the flavour a little wanting. I think it would have been perfect if I had ordered a spicier one.
