Sacheon Baek Jjamppong
Clean and pleasantly spicy, though I think it’s a bit short on wok char. If you like non-fried noodles, it wouldn’t be a bad pick.
Special Yukgaejang
Unremarkable.. I probably don’t need to keep testing cup noodles like this one..
Juicy & Fresh Popcorn
It’s a bit different from the Juicy & Fresh gum flavour, but the zingy taste is surprisingly moreish. Highly recommended as a drinking snack.
Doenjang Ramyun
I’m the sort who likes doenjang soup and doenjang ramyun alike, so this one worked for me too.
Samyang Dalgona Jjanggu..
Not great..
Samyang Ramyun Snack
No real need to seek this one out..
McCol Barley Snack
I bought it because the McCol hardtack was good, but this one is just ordinary.
Whole Kimchijeon
You couldn’t call it cheap, but it tastes properly like kimchijeon. The good part is being able to put one together easily whenever the craving hits.
SPAM Kimchi Fried Rice
Turns out kimchi fried rice suits a firmer ham better than something soft like SPAM..
Soft Tofu Jin Jjambbong
I’m not really sure what this one exists for.
Bean Sprout Kimchi Ramyun
The broth had a clean, refreshing kick and it was good. Maybe it’s the middle-aged bloke in me that likes this sort of thing..
Suntory Haku Vodka
Maybe because it’s a vodka made from rice, there’s a faint sweetness to it. It is a classy bottle, but since I’m only going to mix it with tonic anyway, I do wonder whether that subtlety counts for anything.
Strained deodeok liquor
I’d hoped it would have improved while I was away in Japan, but not really.. I’ve learned that time on its own doesn’t make it taste better. (With fresh deodeok, two or three days of steeping seems to draw out everything there is..)
