I’ll just list the various things I tried.
Cheese
I bought a few while they were 50% off. My favourite is Époisses. But maybe because I only bought strong cheeses, the flavours all overlapped each other. Next time I should get just one or two.
Échiré cookies
Cow-shaped cookies.
They taste good, but with all that butter in them they are a little heavy.
Échiré galette bretonne
This one was just so-so as well. Échiré used to have a big cookie called Broye du Poitou that was delicious, so it’s a shame they don’t sell it these days.
Cakes at Le montblanc
The cakes really are beautifully made. Like knitwear.
While I was wondering what to get, I asked the shop assistant what the most popular one was, and she recommended the strawberry cheese mousse cake.
So I tried it, and my conclusion is that it looks lovely but the taste isn’t quite at that level. It’s not bad, it just leaves a faint impression.
