Oboksusan is a popular chain everyone knows, right? It’s famous for kaisendon, and there’s an upscale branch in the basement of the Andaz hotel in Apgujeong.
Menu
The prices are on the high side, but the quality of the ingredients is high to match. The concept seems to be that if you think about what a trip to Japan costs, Oboksusan is cheap…
Menu
The spread
Appetizer
Assorted sashimi
The freshness is good, too.
Grilled mero (Chilean sea bass)
Mero really is a rich, delicious fish. Add a glass of nihonshu and it’s just right. It costs a bit, but proper food comes out, so it puts me in a good mood.
Grilled uni and crab miso
This one goes great with a drink, too.
Aburi kaisendon
Finishing off with rice…
The fish is fresh and the drinks go down well, but the prices are steep. For this money you could just about go to a sushi place? But well… it has menu items you won’t find elsewhere, so I’d say it’s worth dropping by once in a while.
