Lee Chunbok Chamchi, a tuna place, is close to my office and the value is good, so I keep ending up there. It’s not easy to eat this much and walk out at this price.
The table setting
Tuna
With frozen tuna I sometimes wonder whether you’re really tasting the gim more than the fish.. anyway, the quality is good. Probably because they turn the stock over so fast..
Tsukidashi
Piling on the tsukidashi side dishes is their strategy.. and honestly, once you’ve been this many times, having something other than tuna show up isn’t bad at all..
Nunmulju, the “tears” shot
Doesn’t taste like much, really..
Refill
They bring out konowata, salted sea cucumber innards, too.
Gejang
Not a special flavor, but..
Tempura
In the end this is all just soju snacks..
I think it was noodles..
Albap, rice with flying-fish roe
Lee Chunbok Chamchi on another day
Still, in 2020 the pandemic wasn’t that bad yet, so I did get out to eat a fair amount, but lately it feels like it’s getting harder and harder.. anyway.. the lunch special is reasonable.. the room is neat enough to use for business.. the price isn’t much of a burden.. it’s a decent concept, so I expect I’ll keep dropping by now and then.
