Such a beautiful bottle. There was some peat coming through too, so it tasted pretty good. I have kept the bottle instead of throwing it out, and I am sure I will find a use for it someday.

Cadenhead Knockdhu 10 year

It was not a bottle I had meant to open at home, but with covid there was nothing left to drink, so I opened it. The taste was not great, though. The alcohol sticks out a bit, I suppose.

The Maltman’s Knockdhu 10 year

This one tasted of chocolate. A delicious dram, really. It was well reviewed when it came out, too. This is why you cannot buy on the distillery name alone.

Glenturret 32 year old whisky

This one is very highly rated as well, and the balance of flavours was good. A rich honey aroma. I ended up drinking these precious bottles I had been saving all by myself. All because of that covid.

Flex

Well, the taste is the same. But as someone who runs a food blog, I feel like I helped build the flex culture, so I do not know what to say. I am not sure whether it is really a good culture, but what you enjoy is what you keep in life.

Udo peanut traditional rice wine

This one honestly tasted like garbage. Why do they even sell this?

Gompyo wheat beer

A crisp wheat beer. This is plenty tasty. Korean craft beer is not expensive these days either. Compared to the old days it feels like a different era.

Acorn’s Bruichladdich 21 year

Another whisky with an enormous reputation. But well, it has to be opened. Drinking nothing but good whisky, I feel like the thrill is slowly wearing off.

Armagnac

This is Domaine Boingnères Armagnac 1984. I bought it at Tanakaya in Meguro on Mr. Kuribayashi’s recommendation, and I had been saving it so carefully, and now even this one gets opened. The richness with its restrained sweetness is a different character from cognac (there is a faint strawberry jam note too), and the more I keep drinking it the more its charm grows. The irony of opening a bottle meant for good company because there is nothing left to drink. Covid keeps causing these little regrets.
