Woojung Yanggopchang is famous enough that it hardly needs an introduction from me. It has been on blogs and Instagram, and on TV and YouTube as well. The problem is that reservations are hard to get and the queue is long, though thanks to covid it does seem a little easier to get in now.
The entrance
I took this on the way out so there is nobody in it, but the queue never let up.
The complimentary starter
The menu
The spread
Starting off with gyeran-jjim
Having something to nibble on with a drink before the gopchang arrives is a nice touch. Thoughtful.
The assorted platter, medium
It comes out already seared once, and the quality is no joke.
Grilled up nicely…
A visual optimised for Instagram.
I ate it happily.
I think it might be the best grilled gopchang I have had in Korea.
Fried rice
I ate well right to the end. Some people probably do not warm to a gopchang joint this clean.. but if you are not one of them, this is a place everyone can be happy with.
