I ended up eating all sorts of things in Tokyo, so here is a record of them.
Potato chips from a convenience store
The tang of the mayonnaise is spot on. I bought a few bags and worked through them, but they are so oily that I got a little sick of them by the end.
The Pierre Hermé café
They weren’t selling the desserts the place is famous for, just light meals and merchandise.
The view of the station from the Blue Bottle in Shinagawa…
They’ve set up in a great spot. Good taste.
Jonathan’s vegetable chanpon, I think it was…
It was decent enough.
A ramen shop called Ganko Sohonke…
It’s a ramen shop people queue up for, but when I got there the door was shut… I’m not sure I’ll ever get another chance in this life.
Olive oil natto
Basil and olive oil go with natto better than you’d expect. It was good…
Taberā menma gyudon
A beef bowl topped with crunchy chili oil and menma. Spicy, with the crunch of the menma, and I enjoyed it enormously. First real winner in a while. (Seems like something you could make at home, too…)
