Seogwan Myeonok in Gyodae

A new naengmyeon place called Seogwan Myeonok has opened in Gyodae. Part of me thinks there are too many naengmyeon places by now, but they are all still packed. If the fried chicken joints in every neighborhood can stay in business, a few more naengmyeon places shouldn’t be a problem either.

The interior is rather stylish.

Inside

Seokwanmyeonok

Looks like a good spot for a group.

Taebasi kelp vinegar on the table.

Seokwanmyeonok

Hmm, they say it tastes better with a splash of vinegar, but I’m not so sure about that.

Water

Seokwanmyeonok

Yep.

Matbagi naengmyeon

Seokwanmyeonok

The idea seems to be that it costs a bit more but comes with all sorts of toppings to snack on. The generous toppings are welcome, sure, but the problem is it’s awkward to eat.

Naengmyeon

Seokwanmyeonok

It was decent enough, but not really my thing.
