Mito is home to Kairakuen. Together with Korakuen in Okayama and Kenrokuen in Kanazawa, it’s one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan. I’d been wanting to visit for a while, and this time I finally made the time. It’s not hard to get to.

They have some simple desserts.
Ume (plum) seems to be the specialty here, so I bought an umeboshi daifuku to try.
