Yokaro in Hibiya

When I think of dandanmen, Ginza’s Hashigo is the first place that comes to mind, and now a shop serving almost the same dandanmen has opened in Hibiya. It’s right near Due Edo.

The table

Yokaro hibiya

There are other things on the menu besides dandanmen, but the basic dandanmen is the main event. The line at lunchtime was long.

Rice

Yokaro hibiya

I think this was on the house..

Paiko dandanmen

Yokaro hibiya

Deep-fried pork can’t possibly taste bad, right? It’s the perfect side.

Noodles

Yokaro hibiya

It’s almost the same as Hashigo, though it feels a little tastier. Compared with a typical tantanmen it’s less nutty and rich, but that’s part of the charm. In Japan, a popular place with a line out the door almost never lets you down.
