Yakiniku in Japan is casual, delicious, and great value for money. As I’ve gotten older I’ve lost interest in expensive famous restaurants, but I still end up going for yakiniku regularly.

Naengmyeon

Back when I used to batch up two months’ worth of visits into one post, I could at least remember the names of the dishes; now I can’t remember a single one. That said, this naengmyeon, even though it’s a completely different style from Korean naengmyeon, was pretty tasty. Dashi broth and springy noodles, arranged Korean-style, I guess you could say… I suppose this is how food culture evolves.

Well… it’s an original with no connection whatsoever to the authentic thing, but it’s impressive that it still comes out perfectly edible…

A neighborhood naengmyeon place I found on Tabelog… no, a yakiniku place, but the food was decent. But I’ve since found somewhere better, so I have a feeling I won’t be going back…
