Kazami, a Ramen Shop in Ginza

One chilly evening I was craving a hot bowl of soup, so I went to Kazami in Ginza.

Amazon Bar

kazami

Amazon was running an event around here, and the line was enormous. I gave up on it..

This is what it looked like inside..

kazami

Lots of middle-aged guys, it seemed..

I went around the back of the building and into a tiny ramen shop.

You have to look carefully to find it.

The table setting

kazami

It definitely has that Ginza kind of style.

The kitchen

The ticket machine

I ordered the rich sake lees soba (sakekasu noko soba).

kazami

Sake kasu is the lees left over from brewing sake, and the broth was rich and sweet with a hint of alcohol coming through. I think you could even call it sensual.

The noodles

kazami

Their other ramen seem to be in a completely different style, so this is a place I would like to keep coming back to.

The menu

For your reference..

Amazon Bar on the way back..

Doesn’t look like I will make it next year either.
