Summer in Japan is festival season. I heard that the main event of the Shiba Matsuri, held every year in the shopping street near Shiba Park, is pro wrestling, so I went over at night to check it out.

The ring

The one in front is a wrestler called Aja Kong, who is apparently quite famous.

It was a three-on-three match, and they wrestled flat out for a good thirty minutes or more.

Everyone had incredible stamina. And the intensity was incredible too.

He is on the side of justice.

I shot video and took photos that day, but you really cannot feel that intensity unless you see it in person. I am thinking of going again next year.
