Musashiya, a Tonkatsu Place in Hamamatsucho

There are three famous tonkatsu places in Hamamatsucho, and Musashiya is one of them. The quality is top-notch, but the catch is that there’s nothing cheap on the menu.

The place isn’t exactly tiny, but it fills right up at lunchtime. Plenty of people even order the most expensive item, the 2,400-yen premium set. I guess that tells you how good it is.

Rosu katsu (pork loin cutlet)

musashiya

Even the regular loin cutlet came with a serious amount of fat. It runs around 1,400 yen, but it’s delicious, so no complaints. Still, eating a tonkatsu with even more fat than this at lunch is no small feat, so hats off to everyone here.

Katsu curry

It looked so good that I ordered it, but the cutlet was way too small. Since they sell the curry roux on its own, next time I’ll go with a regular tonkatsu plus curry roux. That would push the price close to 1,600 yen, though.
