Right next to Jiyugaoka there’s a place called Kuhonbutsu, and surprisingly it’s absolutely packed with bakeries and dessert shops. I’d guess it might be the neighborhood with the highest density of dessert shops in all of Tokyo. It’s almost on a par with Yoyogi-Hachiman… Anyway, that’s why I end up going back regularly, and this time I went to Comme’N, a place that’s become famous.

There is a Kuhonbutsu Station, but it isn’t far at all on foot from Jiyugaoka. You get to see all sorts of shops along the way, so you could say walking is the better option.

Bakeries these days really do their interiors well. Same in Korea, same in Japan…

The line was long and you had to order right away, so it wasn’t a situation where I could take my time picking out bread. Better to buy fast and get out.
