A junior colleague was in town on a business trip from Silicon Valley, so we met up briefly at night.
Ebisu Garden Place.
His hotel was the Westin, so we had to cut straight through here…
Robuchon
Looks great even at night.
It was getting late, so we hurried to Sakana Bar, a place I had bookmarked, but they were close to last call and could only do the simple stuff.
Front entrance
The interior is very clean, and the crowd is classy. Ebisu, as expected.
The menu
Good value, and lots of tempting dishes.
Beer first
The quality was absurdly good. Maybe because it’s Ebisu…
Otoshi
This one was just so-so…
Assorted carpaccio
The fish quality is top-notch. I’d love to pick a day, round up the crew and come back.
So good I had another glass…
I spent about half a second considering a move to Ebisu.
Heading straight home felt like a waste, so we moved on to AFURI.
AFURI’s yuzu shio ramen
Even my Silicon Valley colleague agreed: when it comes to eating well, Tokyo is still the best.
