Chuncheonok in Gasan

Chuncheonok in Gasan has been a famous restaurant for ages. I’d been meaning to go for a long time, and this time I finally made it.

The kimchi that comes out when you order bossam

chuncheonok

Tasty, as you’d expect from a bossam institution. There are a few oysters in it, it’s on the sweet side, and it’s nicely ripened.

Bossam

We ordered the medium, and the quality is impressive.

After enjoying that, we ordered haejangguk and makguksu to finish the meal.

The haejangguk came out really generous.

chuncheonok

Perfect to go with soju…

Makguksu

chuncheonok

The makguksu was fine, nothing special. The buckwheat content seemed a bit low, though…

We ate and drank this well and it came to under 30,000 won a head. A few years ago it would have been around 20,000 won, but I’m still satisfied. I wonder how long prices in Korea will keep climbing…

McDonald’s ice cream

chuncheonok

On the way home I stopped by McDonald’s and had an ice cream. Ordering at McDonald’s has gone electronic these days. Pretty fascinating.
