I thought the Hongdae area had gone completely downhill, but strangely enough there are still places worth visiting. The rent must be steep, so I do wonder how well business is going. Anyway, I heard there was a proper dessert cafe in Hapjeong called Mon Café Gregory, so I went to check it out. There are a few other dessert places around here too, but somehow they did not appeal to me. Probably just a matter of taste.
Mille-feuille
The price was reasonable and it was delicious. It would be perfect to drop in when you have a get-together in this neighborhood. La Douce is just too crowded.. I ordered a drink too, but compared to the dessert it was nothing special.
The interior
Not a modern vibe, more cute and cozy. It is spread over three floors, and while each floor is small, there is room enough to sit.
Roughly what the interior looks like..
I think good restaurants in well-connected spots deserve bonus points. You tell yourself you would never go there on purpose, but if you know about a place you end up going eventually.. Knowing where the Starbucks are also helps a lot in a pinch. I have a feeling this is one of those places.
