Some weekend evenings I just cannot be bothered to cook at home. Whenever that happens, I seem to end up in Itaewon. It is only one bridge away from our place, so it takes less than ten minutes by bus.
The Seoul night view from Haebangchon
The upper part of Haebangchon has not been developed yet, but everything up to the middle of the slope is done. The pace of change in this neighbourhood is frightening. Still, the night view of Seoul from up there has real charm.
Don Charly
Don Charly seems a bit roomier since it moved, but there is still quite a wait. It really is popular.
Inside Lypost
Lypost, which I had not visited in a while, has moved to the main road and the interior is much bigger now. I hope business goes well for them.
Tacos at Don Charly
Of all the tacos I have had in Korea, these are hands down top level. Well worth queuing for.
Banh mi at Lypost
I always end up ordering the banh mi. Maybe the coriander is just addictive.
Hitachino Nest White Ale
The beer brewed at a factory here in Korea is finally out. It costs around 5,000 won, half the price of the version imported from Japan. Drinking it, I thought, so a beer like this was possible in Korea after all. It made it clear that the problem was the Korean beer companies, not the ingredients you can get here.
