I had some business near Yeoksam Station, and since it was around lunchtime I went to Ido Gomtang, which has been getting a lot of buzz lately. It was bigger than I expected.
The angle is a bit off, but here is the front
I never thought a place like this would open in this neighborhood. There were not many places to eat around here, so this is very welcome.
The menu
If they really use only domestic hanwoo beef, the prices are fair.
Kimchi
The only side dish is this one, simple as it gets, but it is all you need.
Teuk gomtang, the special
It was less Hadongkwan style and more of a Naju gomtang style. I enjoyed it plenty myself, but people looking for the full Hadongkwan style might come away unsatisfied. I am not sure it is worth a trip from far away, but the value is good and it makes a solid choice when you need a meal in this neighborhood.
