Inoue, the Shoyu Ramen Shop in Tsukiji

It was a short trip with a lot to get done, so no matter how drunk I got the night before, I had to be up early the next morning and on the move. On days like that, a hangover cure in the morning really matters. After finishing up some shopping in Tsukiji, I had a bowl of ramen at Inoue, my usual spot. For curing a hangover, there is no better place in all of Tokyo.

The broth is simple but really refreshing. The chashu is thick too, so one bowl fills you up nicely.

It had been a while, but the taste was as familiar as ever. I think you could call this the soul food of Tokyo.

That day I also bought some freshly shaved, vacuum-sealed katsuobushi in Tsukiji, and when I tried it back home in Korea it was seriously good. Well worth the trip out to Tsukiji.
