L’atelier Tempo, a Bakery in Hamamatsu

I went to L’atelier Tempo. It’s up in the mountains, so it’s a bit of a trek to get there, but I suddenly got a craving for donuts…

This is the place.

Latlier tempo.

It really is halfway up a mountain.

The breads

Latlier tempo.

This time there were quite a few breads out. Come too early and, ironically, there’s no bread yet…

Breads like these

Latlier tempo.

Lots of breads that look rather fancy.

Toast and sandwiches

Latlier tempo.

I’d just come from eating ramen, so these didn’t really tempt me…

Donuts

Latlier tempo.

The donuts are made from a long-fermented dough, so they’re fluffy yet have a soft, mellow flavor. In a way they remind me a bit of I’m donut?. Still delicious even after a long time away.

Focaccia

Latlier tempo.

Simple, but the flavor was pretty good…

Lodève noix

Latlier tempo.

It’s a country bread with walnuts in it. I picked it as a loaf I could keep in the freezer and eat over time.

Baguette nature

Latlier tempo.

I’d been to Bawiwi not long ago and thought that was already world-class, but the bread here has an incredible toasty aroma. The taste is great, of course, but it’s the aroma that overwhelms you. I’m so glad a bakery this good is within driving distance.
