After round one at Tuk Tuk, we moved on to Angel’s Share for round two. These days I hardly ever go anywhere unless I know the owner, got an introduction, or have been there before. Unlike in Japan, walking into an unfamiliar place here too often ends in disappointment. So the blog will most likely keep featuring the same places I’ve already been to, and the content may get a bit dull. Apologies in advance. (If you find it boring, you can simply stop visiting…)

Snacks

I didn’t ask the price of each thing, so I have no idea what they cost. I always leave feeling I got more than I paid for. That’s how you end up a regular, I suppose.

The rather famous Glenfarclas 105

A clean 60% ABV whisky. The late Michael Jackson (not the singer) praised it highly for its value for money. It had been a while since I last had it, but it’s as excellent as ever.

60% is fine to sip neat…

Just take small sips while enjoying the aroma.

Whisky Sour

It’s a cocktail made with egg white, and it’s as pretty as it is tasty. It could easily pass as the signature drink of this bar. If you come to Angel’s Share with a lady, be sure to order one.

There was an impromptu get-together at lunch the very next day, so we didn’t drink much that night and called it early. Then the next day I ate and drank from lunch onward and ended up back at Angel’s Share. I remember practically clocking in around this neighbourhood. These days, for various reasons, it has become hard to go again, though.
