Yeonji Dongtaeguk has to be the most famous restaurant around Jongno 5-ga. I had heard about it for ages, and at the tail end of this winter I finally got a chance to go.

Small dongtae jjigae (pollack stew) + milt, for 2-3 people

It was not as spicy as I expected. There was hardly any innards, but enough milt to stuff yourself with.. and the few bits of innards were actually the tastier part. Excellent value for the price, but still a little underwhelming.

The side dishes

Kept simple. The broth is good, so it is a nice place for a casual drink, but I am not sure I will have a reason to go back.
