Gangnam has sprouted countless sushi places like Sushi Matsumoto and Sushi Chohee, but when it comes to good sushi north of the river, Sushi Cho is about the only name that comes to mind. Partly that is because I still do not have much experience, but it also says a lot about Sushi Cho’s reputation. It was a place I had wanted to try for a while, so I picked a day and dropped in.

Crackers

I ordered a reasonable lunch course. It runs around 100,000 won per person, which is a fair price. The crackers seemed to be served as an appetizer, but they were a bit of an odd start.

Salad

Well… nothing special so far. Probably because I went with the cheap lunch menu.

Chawanmushi

This one tasted wonderful.

Sushi

It might be better to photograph and post each piece one by one, but that is too much hassle, so here they all are at once. The fish is as fresh as anything in Japan. The uni in particular was outstanding. Sushi of this level in Seoul could hold its own against most sushi places in Tokyo. Then again, the price is just as steep.

Soba to finish

The portion is a bit large. The soba was not exceptional either, so I ended up leaving some.

Dessert

Great value for a lunch, and generous portions too. A very satisfying meal.
