Azumabashi Yabusoba is a soba place I can recommend with confidence. It is only open during the day, so it is hard to recommend as wholeheartedly as Kyorakutei.. and the location is a bit awkward too, but on the taste of the soba alone there are not many places in Tokyo that match it. On top of that, for a famous shop the prices are quite reasonable.
Kakiage soba
This is my favorite thing here. You cut into the kakiage, packed with plump, springy shrimp, and savor the soba in between. Pure pleasure.
Dashimaki
I ordered the small one, but it was a pretty generous portion. More than enough for two of us. I hope a place this good stays around for a long time. Which means I should come by a bit more often ^_^
