Near Yurakucho Station in Ginza there is a small wagashi shop called Osumi Tamaya. Maybe because it has been in business in Ginza for so long, it is fairly well known. I heard they sell a limited-edition Ichigo Mame Daifuku (strawberry and bean daifuku) for 300 yen apiece, so I bought one.
Comes with an explanatory leaflet..
They say it is made only from carefully selected ingredients, every single one. The steep price made sense.

The inside
The strawberry was bursting with juice. The red bean paste had a refined flavor, and the mochi kept its chewy texture. The best daifuku of my life. I enjoyed it so much that I went back to buy more on my next visit to Ginza, but it is so popular that by evening it was already sold out. I wonder when I will get lucky enough to buy one again..
