I was out in Hamamatsu for the day, and while wondering where to have lunch, I ended up at a Chinese restaurant I had heard was famous.

Tenshinhan
The a la carte dishes were not expensive, so I ordered without hesitation. Tenshinhan is a dish mostly eaten around Osaka: fried rice topped with an omelette and a sweet-and-sour sauce. You could call it the soul food of the Kansai region. I really love it, but it is hard to find in Tokyo. Since I had come all this way, I ordered it, and it was really good.
Corn soup
I ordered this to take the edge off the spiciness of the mapo tofu rice. It was pretty decent.
Mapo tofu rice
A standard mapo tofu rice bowl. I have been under the weather with a cold lately and eating nothing but bland food, so I was really craving mapo tofu. I am glad to have found a Chinese restaurant this good outside the big city.
Soup
The set meals come with a soup, and this chicken-bone broth was clean-tasting and delicious.
Tea
They serve tea after the meal too. Very satisfying.
Mango pudding
I ordered dessert as well, and it was pretty good. Well fed and re-energised, I headed back to the hatsuuri new-year sales.
