I had heard there was a good bakery in Gotanda, so I stopped by on my way home from work. But when I got there, Arietta’s most famous breads had already sold out.
So this is what I brought home
I just grabbed a few of whatever was left, so I can’t really judge the level of this place from these. Then again, going all the way out to Gotanda for a weekend lunch just to buy bread is a bit far, and that’s the problem.
The bread reborn as next morning’s breakfast
I lightly toasted the bread and stuffed it with this and that to make a sandwich, and the slightly tangy natural-yeast bread was better than I expected. If even a random pick tastes this good, I wonder what level their signature breads must be at.
The shop looked roughly like this.
It has an old-fashioned feel that doesn’t seem like Gotanda at all. They also run a pizza place right next door, and I’d like to drop in there someday too.
