I bought all my home appliances in one go at Yamada Denki in Ikebukuro. If you are going to live in Japan there is a lot you need anyway, so buying it all at once is the economical way to do it. The more you buy, the bigger the discount too. Maybe it was the two straight days of hardcore shopping, but once I had picked out all the appliances I was so tired I could barely stay on my feet, so I decided to take a break at Cafe Resto on the restaurant floor of Yamada Denki.
The cakes you can choose from
These are cakes from Hotel Seiyo Ginza. Hotel Seiyo Ginza has a long history when it comes to desserts. That history is what made it famous, but by today’s standards they were not especially good. They might have passed back in the day, but everyone’s level has gone up since then.

Well.. just as expected, nothing special.

This place has a nice atmosphere. Quiet and rather upscale.
Coffee
It is a good spot for a quiet rest, but the desserts were just so-so. Still, I was so worn out I was about to collapse, so I really needed a calm place like this. From now on I should hold back on doing all my shopping in one big push.
