Since I’m heading back to Japan, we held a farewell party for our gourmet club at Trattoria Molto in Apgujeong. As you know, Molto is a really wonderful restaurant. We booked out the whole place for a spur-of-the-moment gathering of 20 people, and even with that many of us every dish was served flawlessly. What a great meal it was.

Antipasto

Roast chicken

It wasn’t a single portion, so we shared it. Delicious.

The inside

This is a dish I’d never seen at Molto before, and the portion is a bit awkward to slot into the regular course. I suspect a dish like this is only possible because the number of guests was set in advance.

Risotto

There aren’t many places in Korea where you can eat risotto this good.

Lamb pasta

Dishes you rarely get to see kept coming out. These aren’t easy to eat unless it’s a gourmet gathering. I was so grateful they prepared them specially for us.

Fresh egg noodle pasta

Talking to people afterwards, they said this was the most moving dish of the whole evening.

Halfbeak pasta

It’s already a signature dish.

Dessert

A light dessert to finish..

Nibbles

We had a whiskey along with some light nibbles.

Once again I ate so well I almost felt bad about it. I wish them nothing but continued success.
