With White Day coming up.. buying candy, which isn’t exactly good for your teeth, felt a bit off.. so I was thinking of getting chocolate instead, and then I heard a rumor that Almani Dolci had opened in Cheongdam-dong. I’ve been to their Ginza store a few times to buy chocolate, and the quality is very high and the price is reasonable too – and on top of that the person receiving it is always happy – so it’s one of my favorite dessert shops. With a shop like that opening in Korea, there was no way I wasn’t going to go.
The entrance
You’ll find the location if you search for Almani Casa.. it looks like a flower-related shop called FIORI opened alongside it, but I don’t know much about that side of things so I can’t explain it. There’s furniture laid out near the entrance, and the dessert shop is further inside.

Since it was White Day I asked for white chocolate, but it was already sold out, so I twisted their arm into giving me the one on display and just barely dodged disaster. The full opening was around April and March was more of a soft opening, so there wasn’t much on offer besides chocolate. It really felt like they’d rushed to open in time for White Day. Well, by now they must be running normally.
The display
They’ve put it together very neatly. The chocolate isn’t cheap, but thinking of it as a gift, you won’t find better value than this. That’s one more place I now know about that makes life in Korea a whole lot easier.
