Seongsan Wang Galbi is a bit hard to find, but it has a reputation for being delicious. Posts about it have been popping up since the start of the year, but for a Gangnam dweller like me it’s just so far away that I never really got the chance to go. This time our group had a meetup there, so I somehow managed to leave work early and made it over.

This is actually my second time eating it. The first was at a barbecue. With quality like this and prices that aren’t steep at all, no wonder it’s popular. I hear Yoo Hee-yeol and his fans even came here recently for a concert after-party.

The owner comes over and cuts and grills everything for you, so there’s hardly anything to worry about. All you have to do is focus on eating and drinking.

It’s cut into big chunks, so it’s got a proper, satisfying chew. The fat is soft and tender. I doubt there are many meat places in Seoul serving fresh galbi as good as this.
Doenjang soup to finish
You can’t skip the dish everyone says is good. After working hard through the pork, I happily finished the doenjang soup too.
