I started a ferocious diet in May, so I needed some kitchen gear for making diet food. And since I’d come all the way to Osaka anyway, I couldn’t not stop by IKEA.
The recently launched French dog
By the time we got there I was hungry, so I went for IKEA’s famous 100-yen hot dog, only to find they were also selling a French dog for 180 yen. Out of curiosity I bought one, even though it costs a whopping 80% more. The differences are the bread and the mayonnaise sauce inside, but I’m not even a mayo fan, so I’d have been better off with the standard 100-yen hot dog.

It’s on the regular menu. A drink, a hot dog and a soft serve, all for just 230 yen..
My friend eats four hot dogs, just hot dogs.
Two of them.. The plain hot dog really does look tastier. I’m thinking I should have just had two plain hot dogs too.

Osaka’s night views and waterfront scenery are every bit as good as Tokyo’s. If driving there were just a bit easier, I’d go often.. With the salad bowl and other kitchen gear I bought that day, I dieted really hard for the whole of June. I’m down about 3 kilos so far. Still, there’s a long way to go. I’d like to lose another 2-3 kilos by the end of July. The kitchen gear has been really useful, and every time I use it I think I should have bought it sooner. Shopping like this is really satisfying.
