Not many people know this, but on the 4th floor of the Gucci store in Ginza there’s a café and a chocolate shop. The café isn’t all that pricey (coffee is about 600 yen) and the atmosphere is lovely, so I hear it’s always packed. The chocolates stamped with the Gucci logo are supposed to be tasty too, but given the price, they’re popular as gifts rather than something you buy to eat yourself.

It’s on the way from Yurakucho Station to the Ginza 4-chome crossing. One of the easiest places to get to in Ginza. It opens at 11 in the morning.
As I expected, I couldn’t take pictures of the café, and I was allowed to photograph the chocolates only on condition that they go on my personal blog.

I haven’t tasted them so I can’t tell you about the flavor, but just looking at them they’re pure luxury and seriously stylish. They sell 4 pieces for 2,000 yen, 12 for 4,000 yen and 16 for 5,000 yen. Looks like the box alone costs about 1,500 yen. But the box is so ridiculously classy that I really can’t call it expensive.

The paper bag is made of an unusual material. It’s built so it doesn’t crease easily. I’d only heard about these, but seeing them in person, I wondered if there could be a better gift than this. I wish there were a pack of 8 for about 3,000 yen, but I guess I’ll just have to earn a lot of money and buy the pricey ones.
