T.Y.HARBOR BREWERY, which bills itself as a serious craft-beer place and American restaurant, is in an area called Tennozu, not far from Shinagawa. It doesn’t look especially tasty and it isn’t all that convenient to get to, yet for some reason it’s popular – and on top of that the crowd is supposed to be good-looking – so I went to check it out.

They say it’s a converted logistics warehouse. Once you’re inside there’s no warehouse feel, but the area around the place is a bit warehouse-y.
We walked in without a reservation, and were told we’d have to wait an hour in the waiting room before we could get out onto the terrace. Well.. we’d come all this way, so we waited.
Beer tasting menu, 980 yen
These are the beers they brew themselves. The taste is.. not bad. They’re fresh and each one has its own distinct character, but I wouldn’t exactly call them delicious. At this level I’d rather just drink Asahi.
After an hour’s wait we finally go in.
The cidre my friend ordered, 800 yen
A sparkling wine made from apples. My friend said it was ordinary.
The sangria I ordered, 900 yen
A cocktail with red wine in it; it looks nice and is pretty tasty. Better than the beer.
Pizza with sausage and mozzarella, 1,800 yen
It’s hot since it just came out of the oven, but the toppings are way too cheap. That puts a ceiling on how good it can taste. The atmosphere isn’t bad and it’s fine for the price, but I don’t feel like making a special trip just to eat food at this level. Unless someone offers to treat me, I don’t think I’ll be back.
P.S. The crowd wasn’t bad. Though I did bring the average down a bit by showing up..
