Inland Bali has a highland area formed by volcanoes. You could say it is a bit like Hallasan on Jeju back home in Korea.
Well… it is a good four hours there and back, and there wasn’t much to see. We basically just had a meal and came back. The view itself is nice, but I do wonder whether it was worth going out of our way for.

Very ordinary. They served some braised meat, and I spat it out halfway through. The yakitori-style skewers were fine, though.

Maybe because it’s the tropics, you see this kind of scene a lot. Surely it’s not actually dead…
On the way back on the tour bus you run into lots of locals trying to sell souvenirs. They shout “1,000 yen a bundle!”, but the stuff probably costs less than 100 yen to make. Total rip-off. A lot of locals sell like that to Japanese tourists. I was told it’s best to just ignore them.
