Daemunjeom is a place in Yeongdeungpo famous for its ohyang jangyuk (five-spice braised pork) and boiled dumplings. We headed straight over after Yangui Jip. When we walked in, it was packed, as you’d expect from a popular spot.
The complimentary soup
It’s decent enough.
The main event, the ohyang jangyuk.
Not bad. It seemed like a great match for soju, but I wasn’t really in soju-drinking shape… At 12,000 won, that’s cheap for what you get.
We ordered cilantro on the side.
These days things feel a bit bland without cilantro.
We tried the fried dumplings.
So-so… I’m so used to Japanese gyoza that these felt a bit greasy.
Today’s daily wine, which we brought along from Yangui Jip.
It tasted a bit cheap, but… oh well…
Today’s daily sake: Suishin.
It’s a personal favorite, so I brought it along for my friend.
