The Oki Islands are made up of five large islands. On day two we set off early in the morning for the next island.
Saigo Port
Photos like this make me want to shoot with a Carl Zeiss lens.
The sparkling morning sea
The sea looks great in the morning too.
Rocky islets
There are countless islands like this.
This is the Kitaro ferry.
Kitaro… it’s not even that famous a manga… but they’re really milking it for all it’s worth..
The rocky coast at Sotohama
It just goes on and on.
Jellyfish
The water is incredibly clear.
The horizon
Who knew the sea could be this beautiful?
The Kuniga hills
This was the most beautiful hill on Oki. They even let horses and cows graze here… but sadly I don’t have many good shots of it..
An island
Taken from the boat on the way back.
Near Shichirui Port
Sunset on the way back
Clouds over the sea..
My keeper rate on this trip was about 1 in 8. That’s the level where I shoot eight frames to get one decent shot.. Including bracketing, I think an ideal keeper rate would be around 50%.
I’ve still got a long way to go..
