It’s a sky lounge on the 50th floor, and the view is of course superb ^_^; but today wasn’t a perfectly clear day,
so the sky shots didn’t come out very clean..
A shot of the Chiba coast and port that I took before the buffet opened. The tall buildings in the middle left are Bay Town,
a cluster of homes with pricey rents. The buildings are all European-style. There are lots of unusual things and fun spots
you don’t easily find elsewhere in Chiba.. (a Ferrari showroom, for example..) but the rent is
about 1.5 to 2 times what I pay where I live now.
This is Mihama-en, a Japanese garden with a teahouse. It looks really tiny from up here..
The parking lot. The cars are parked so neatly. If the image were a bit bigger
you’d get how cute the little cars look.. oh well.. shrinking it down doesn’t really do it justice..
The food. I’d heard it was a dessert buffet, but it wasn’t only desserts.. anyway, the cakes served for dessert
are a cut above the usual. In Korea the only ones really worth eating were Eguchi’s cheesecake and the chocolat framboise,
but since coming to Japan.. I’m happy there are so many delicious cakes ^_^;
Japanese cakes have a well-balanced sweetness. They’re not just sweet, they’re sweet just enough
to put you in a good mood, if that makes sense.. The cakes I had in Kobe were delicious too.. I might have to start
a Japanese cake tour sometime soon. (Or should losing the belly come first..)
Besides the desserts there were sandwiches and pasta. Well.. the taste.. it tastes like a hotel buffet ^_^;;
The plates up to here were arranged by my companion.. this one I arranged myself.. -_-;;
I mixed a Japanese-style mushroom sauce with the risotto sauce on my pasta.. and it was tastier
than most pasta places. There wasn’t a huge amount of choice.. but anyway.. it was so good that I overate
on the way out. (This is why buffets are a bit..)
I tried practicing my plating ^_^; Looks like I need to put in more effort to make food photos look appetizing..
All this came to 1,800 yen. A decent enough lunch. If the weather had been clearer.. I could have seen
Mount Fuji too and it would have been fantastic.. a little disappointing..
Chiba Marine Stadium, shot with the 77 on my way out. The 77 really isn’t made for landscapes.. For a while
I think I’ll go with the 31 for scenery and the 77 for portraits.
