It had been a while, so I went to 2chef with my gourmet club friends. Being the end of the year, it was hard to get a table at any restaurant, but our timing was good.
Oysters
Served as an appetizer. I rarely carry my DSLR around these days, so I shot these on my iPhone, and the image quality is not great. I wish a phone with a really good camera would come out soon.

Besides our group, there was a big meetup that day filling the rest of the restaurant, yet the food did not fall short at all.
Domaine Laurent Bourgogne Cuvée MCMXXVI
I was told it is a Bourgogne made from vines planted in 1926. As you would expect from Dominique Laurent, it was nicely balanced.
Steak
I do not eat steak that often, but it is nice once in a while ^_^
Kilikanoon R
This is the top wine from Kilikanoon, a winery famous for how good its wines are. Robert Parker gave it 97 points, apparently. I think it would have been even better with a few more years in the cellar.. but it drank fine now. It is a bit of a shame that we did not open it ahead of time and let it breathe before drinking.
Balvenie 14 Year Old
We opened the single malt I had bought on my trip to Jeju Island. As you would expect from Balvenie, good quality for the price.
Joël Robuchon’s stollen
Better than I expected. Maybe because it is a rum-based dessert, it went well with the Balvenie whisky too. Robuchon never disappoints.
Butter marshmallows from Échiré
I was trying to buy a dessert with a long shelf life at Échiré, and there was not much to choose from. So I ended up buying the marshmallows, and the butter flavor came through much richer than I expected. A pretty nice dessert.
Cherry wine poured into chocolate cups
A dessert that one of the gourmet club members brought back from Spain. People downed it in one go, cup and all. Rich stuff.
Having eaten and drunk this well, we decided to head to a second spot.
Yongpo
It is said to be a sister shop of a famous izakaya, but the quality was not much for the price.
Sevenbrau beer at Akor
So we went to one more place, and the beer here was really quite good. It seems like it would be nice to come a bit early, order a light snack and drink at a leisurely pace.
