I had a year-end gathering at Grill Demi-Glace in Chungmuro.
It’s located on the first floor of a hotel.
The atmosphere here looked great. I visited once a long time ago and couldn’t make it back for a while, but it seems they’ve moved and are doing very well.
Seafood Salad
It was delicious. They really know what they’re doing…
Cream Pasta
I was a bit surprised when some authentic Italian came out. The taste was top-notch, of course, but it seems they pursue a variety of flavors rather than just being a standard Western restaurant. I think it was even more so because it was a day for special year-end menus.
Braised Duckja (Flatfish)
The size of the Duckja was insane. The meat is creamy. I can’t believe such delicious Korean food is served at a Western restaurant…
Kkakdugi (Diced Radish Kimchi)
I feel like this flavor actually pairs quite well with Italian food…
Morning Bread and Potato Salad
This is the signature menu of this place. It’s a flavor that completely fills your mouth…
Grilled Abalone
They use incredibly large abalones.
Tomato Eggplant Gratin
This is exactly the kind of thing that makes a great wine snack.
Cream Shrimp Gratin
This was delicious too.
Fried Shrimp
A staple of Western restaurants. With shrimp of this size, it’s impossible for it not to be tasty. Plump and juicy.
Steamed Skate
I wonder why another such delicious menu item appeared…
Baekgyeong Scented Rice Wine – Christmas Special
I brought this thinking it might pair with Western food like wine, and it was quite good. The year-end special bottle shape is pretty, and it has a luxurious taste and aroma. However, I do think a drier Baekgyeong White might have been better for the greasy Western dishes.
Hambak Steak
Another staple of Western restaurants. The demi-glace sauce was delicious.
Yuxiang Donggong (Stir-fried Mushrooms and Shrimp)
Suddenly Chinese food… The chef isn’t just good at Western food; they’re great at everything, whether it’s Korean or Chinese. With this level of skill, they could probably go on Culinary Class Wars…
Cremiel’s Stollen
I’ve tried various Stolens, but I think Cremiel’s Stollen is the best of the year. That’s why it’s not easy to get Cremiel’s Stollen every year. It has a strong cinnamon scent, is packed with nuts, feels a bit like apple pie, and is intuitively delicious.
Cremiel Stollen
The design is pretty, so it would make a great gift.
Interior
It has a clean hotel restaurant vibe.
Wine
A very hotel-like atmosphere.
The chef at Demi-Glace is incredibly skilled, so I was able to enjoy a truly delicious meal.
