I came to the market.

It turns out the zhacai we all eat is made from Chinese radish like this.. it is a side dish I eat all the time and I had no idea what it was even made of.

It turns out I had walked past this place on an earlier trip to Daerim. It is just that the name was so odd that I ignored it and carried on by.. what on earth is Chunlima supposed to mean..

From the outside it just looks like an ordinary mart..

It turns out that when it comes to Chinese liquor this is the number one shop in the country, both for range and for price. Joyang Mart had plenty too, but Chunlima Mart is on another level. The prices are far cheaper as well. I hereby crown it the top spot for Chinese liquor.

There is Bainian Hutu, there is Xifengjiu.. quite a range.

There are gaoliang liquors made specially for Korea too, like Ziyue.

They sell decanters and glasses as well.

There was more good stuff than I expected.. if you want to drink properly at home it would be worth kitting yourself out. The trouble is that Chinese liquor has such a strong character that you end up drinking it on your own, so there is not much point in going to the effort..

You have to zoom in on the photo to read the price tags, but most of them are the lowest prices in the country.

Shaoxing wine

They sell Shaoxing wine as well. In Japan you can buy it at just about any supermarket, but in Korea it seems Daerim is about the only place you can get hold of it..
