I’m Donut? is famous in Harajuku for its absurdly long lines, and I once thought about giving it a try myself, but the queue was so long that I gave up. Then I heard a place like that had landed in Korea, so there was no way I could skip it.
The place
The line was enormous at first, but by this point you could get in with only about 30-40 minutes of queuing.
Took a number and wandered around the neighborhood..
Haz Bakery seems to be famous too. There are lines all over the place.
Etre Bake House
Apparently the line is long because of a salt bread pop-up..
Blue Elephant..
I hear the boss here got locked up, so I wonder if the place is doing okay..
I’m Donut?
On top of the pressure to pick your donuts fast, the way the place works makes photos pretty hard to take.
Donuts like this
Plenty of varieties. I had no idea there would be this many.
Donuts
Donuts
Inside
Hard at work making them, by the look of it..
Donuts
There is even a gamtae seaweed one, and the range is wide. These are not just sweet either; they are fermented too, so they go well with all kinds of ingredients.
Cream donut
Turns out.. cream donuts are ridiculously hard to carry because of the way they look.. you can probably tell just by looking.. great for Instagram, awkward to eat..
The donuts
So there are even donuts meant to stand in for a meal.
The goods

Cream donut
In the end the cream on top fell off while I was carrying it.. anyway, the cream did taste good.. and beyond the cream, the donuts themselves are all tasty. That said, if a donut, which is supposed to be junky, is this clean, this un-sweet and this good, can you really still call it a donut? That question stayed with me. Then again, the same goes for the donuts at L’Atelier Tempo, so donuts like this really do seem to be the mainstream of the times.
Also, the prices are not high, but the donuts are small, so if you keep picking up this and that you could easily go over budget.
Cotopaxi
So they have a Korean distributor now..
Ganadi pop-up store
Seongsu, of course..
Bonghwa apple pop-up
There were all kinds of pop-ups.
Songhwa Shanxi Knife-cut Noodles
I hear this place is famous, but I never seem to have a reason to go.. And the rice noodle place next door, Daerisa.. probably serves something close to Vietnamese pho.. Maybe a master of the One Yang Finger is the one pulling the noodles.
