Taketsuru Grande

Pure malt means they have mixed the malt whisky from Miyagikyo with the malt whisky from Yoichi. I heard this one came out well, so I bought a bottle, and it really was good. Nicely balanced, and sweet when you drink it on the rocks.. it feels like a textbook blended malt.. The value for money is good, but it is a little short on any sense of luxury.. I suppose that is the fate of an NV..

Oysters in season cannot help but be good, and they come out properly with tartar sauce as well. This is how it has to be for the drinks to go down.

Gunsan-style steamed pollack

A regular at this place took charge and ordered the best possible dishes for us. Eating this brought me back to life so I could carry on drinking..

It feels like ordering tangsuyuk at Miro. To think they are this good at deep-fried food too..

Yamazaki

This one was a bit of a letdown. The strong peat is one thing, but there was not much of the Yamazaki character in it. The Kogei had that balance just right. Well, there is quite a price gap too, and this is the third batch, so it cannot be helped that it falls off a little. I should have bought the first batch..

Served like this it is just so good.. Thanks for the meal.

One more drink at Barolo

We moved on for a second round and had a light drink. The food and the drinks were good and the people were good too, a perfect get-together.
