Place Monge, a Bakery in Hamamatsu

Place Monge is a French bakery I visit often. The taste is a sure thing.

Breads

Place monge.

I used to think you had to go to a big city to see this level of quality, but the good shops out in the regions are really good too. Which is why you sometimes need to line up before opening.

Noix raisin

Place monge.

I went late, so there weren’t many breads left…

Breads

Place monge.

Desserts

Place monge.

All delicious…

Brioche

Place monge.

The prices here are reasonable too…

Canele and tarte Tatin

Place monge.

The reason I visited was the tarte Tatin. It’s a rare item they only make a few times a year, so that’s why I finally came back after a while.

Interior

Place monge.

Clean and well kept.

I think of this place now and then, but the problem is it’s so popular you have to go early in the morning… And with so many other good bakeries opening up, the reasons to make a special trip here are shrinking.
